How our cold rooms are built
Italian-made modular cold rooms: injected polyurethane panels, 80 mm for chillers (0 to +8 °C) and 100 mm for freezers (-18 to -20 °C), food-safe pre-painted steel sheet, rounded inner corners, non-slip stainless steel floor. A cold room can be split into several compartments, even at different temperatures: each with its own door and refrigeration unit.
The configurator sizes the refrigeration unit on the cubic metres and the room temperature: a monoblock straddling the wall, a ceiling monoblock, or a split system with the condensing unit outside, when heat and noise must stay away.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a cold room cost?
Mostly it depends on size and temperature: a 2 x 2 m chiller with its refrigeration unit costs around €7,160 excluding VAT, a freezer of the same size €7,990. Delivery and installation are quoted separately for your location.
Chiller or freezer?
A chiller, 0 to +8 °C, is for fresh food: meat, fish, vegetables, dairy. A freezer, -18 to -20 °C, is for frozen food, with thicker panels, a heated door, a pressure relief valve and a more powerful unit.
Can chiller and freezer share one cold room?
Yes, with a partition: the freezer sits behind the chiller and opens into it, so the chiller works as an anteroom. A 2 x 4 m room split this way costs €16,870, with two refrigeration units. Or side by side, each with its own door.
Which refrigeration unit?
The wall monoblock is the most common and the cheapest. The ceiling unit goes above the aisle when the walls are needed for shelving. A split system moves the condensing unit outside, with its heat and noise. The configurator sizes it on the cubic metres and the room temperature; if one monoblock is not enough it fits two.
What size for a restaurant?
Start from the shelving: 40 cm deep along the walls and an aisle of at least 60 cm, 90 cm with a trolley. From 3 m wide a double-sided peninsula fits in the middle.
Do you deliver and install abroad?
Yes. We are based near Milan and we deliver and install across Europe. Delivery and installation are quoted on request, depending on the country and site access: send us your cold room from the configurator with your country and city.
